What is Matter? Everything in the universe is made up of atoms, even the air we breathe and the vaccuum of space. Every atom is made up of protons, neutrons and electrons. The inside of an atom is more than 99.99% empty space. Fritjof Capra, an austrian physicist born in 1939, relates that if the nucleus of an atom is visualized to be the size of a grain of salt, then to accurately portray the scale of a real atom, the electrons would have to be hundreds of feet away. Some scientists believe that the amount of matter in an atom is so small that if all matter in the universe was condensed down, it would be the size of a pea. ![]() The only reason that your body, the earth or anything in our known universe appears to be solid is because your sensory interpretations of the vibrations caused by electrons orbiting the atoms. So what is real? Since there is no way to tell if you’re being deceived by your vision (or other sense) because it is only an interpretation of vibrations, the only thing that's real is your consciousness. Your consciousness, along with the consciousnesses of every man, woman, and child alive today are all connected, and because of the fact that there are atoms in everything, there literally is no separation between anyone or anything. - We Are All One - <Next> |
