Before Human Life on Earth

Among Earth's earliest inhabitants lies the remedy to all destructive pollution on planet Earth - Mushrooms.
Most people have a xenophobic mentality towards these amazing planetary healers because people tend to fear that which they don't understand.
Perhaps this page will change your mind.

The oldest mushroom found inside a piece of
Amber was 90 million years old.

Paul Stamets has been a dedicated mycologist for over thirty years.  He is the author of six books on mushroom use, cultivation and identification, and
has discovered four new species of mushrooms.

o  Stamets conducted an experiment to try and restore petrochemical-ridden, lifeless soil
  back to health.

There were four piles in total - one was innoculated with mushroom mycelium, one was
treated with bacteria, another was treated with chemicals, and the other was a control pile.

The piles were inspected 4 weeks later.  The chemical and bacteria-treated piles
remained filthy and sported quite the stench, while the mushroom-treated pile was a
  different story.

i

The mycelium absorbed the oil like a sponge.  (As the absorbtion occurs, the mycelium creates
extracellular metabolytes that break down hydrogen and carbon bonds).

The pile was covered in hundreds of pounds of Oyster mushrooms, some of which were
12 to 16 inches in diameter.

As the mushrooms released spores, insects were attracted to the pile to feed and lay their eggs.
This attracted birds who spread life to the pile as well, and after the mushrooms were gone...

u
... the soil was healthy again and the pile became a fountain of life, sprouting plants after
    only six weeks.

After a soil-analysis, Stamets found that the soil went from 20,000ppm of hydrocarbons to
   less than 200ppm.

After finding piles of wood dust on the floors of his home, Stamets experimented to try and
develop a new type of pesticide for his termite and carpenter ant infestation.

The ants absolutely loved it!  They chowed down on the mushroom buffet and brought back to
their nest all that they could not finish.

Little did they know, this meal would be their last...

The ants were completely eliminated, never to return to Paul's country home again.

For this invention Stamets received Patent #6660290, which is just one of many of his patented
  discoveries in the mushroom field.

In his book Mycelium Running, Paul Stamets makes a prediction that mushrooms exist on many more planets than just earth, and my discovery of photos
from Mars Rover Opportunity have confirmed this amazing truth.
