Milk has a reputation of being a highly-nutritious food - a reputation that is simply
undeserved. Today's milk is, in reality, a highly toxic and allergenic substance.
Pediatrician Russel Bunai M.D., in a 1994 issue of Natural Health, states that the one
change to the U.S. diet that could provide the greatest health benefits would be the
elimination of milk products.
Dr. Frank Oski, former director of the Department of Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University
School of Medicine, said "We should all stop drinking
milk", in his 1992 book Don't Drink
Your Milk.
In nature, no species drinks the milk of another species, and no animal
drinks milk after
its period of weaning. As Raymond Francis put it in Never Be Sick Again, "Feeding
elephant milk to
cats, mouse milk to giraffes, or cow milk to humans is not a good idea."
Humans have a very difficult time digesting the proteins and fats found in
cow's milk, and
it doesn't supply nearly the amount of calcium that the
advertisements claim. Statistics
from the World Health Organization show that countries consuming the most
milk and milk products
have the highest
rates of osteoporosis, breast cancer, allergies and diabetes.
Just like sugar and white flour, milk can deplete the body of nutrients. To metabolize the fats found in
pasteurized milk, our
bodies use up Essential Fatty Acids, which is one of the most serious deficiencies.
The pasteurization of milk is the prime factor in contributing to disease - it creates toxins and destroys nutrients.
When animals are fed pasteurized milk they develop weak bones, osteoporosis, and tooth decay.
When
calves are fed pasteurized milk they usually die within eight weeks!
